Wood Industry Summer Issue is Out!

By Grace Tatigian

We are thrilled to announce that the summer issue of Wood Industry is available now. The print magazine is out for delivery to English subscribers, and a digital copy of the magazine is available online for all other interested parties.

What’s in the magazine? Glad you asked! Here’s an overview of some of the big-ticket items from this issue.

Our cover story is Kitchen Cabinets: Current Trends and What’s Here to Stay, where we chat with representatives from Grass, Uniboard, and Richelieu about their perspectives on trends in kitchen cabinetry. We discuss the obvious aesthetic trends, like colours, and delve into invisible trends like the incur increase in antibacterial materials being used.

We profile Larch Wood Enterprises, a Nova Scotian end grain cutting board company that sells its products all over North America. On the topic of exporting, we chat with Matt Poirier, Director of Trade and Policy at Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), about Domestic and International Growth and go over the top five essential exporting resources for Canadian companies who want to be successful selling outside of Canada.

The Beginner’s Guide to Flat Table CNC Machines is an endearing submission from Planit Canada, comparing integrating a CNC into your shop and preparing to welcome a baby. Other contributions include Back-to-Basics, a business-to-business marketing piece for companies with the secondary wood products sector, and “Health & Hazards,” lawyer Junaid J. Malik’s article on an employer’s duties during the pandemic.

Another feature is our Automation & Robotics article, where we get the perspectives of industry experts from AutomaTech Robotik, Woodoer, and FSTool. We cover the misconceptions, potential, and challenges surrounding integrating automated machinery into the shop.

And of course, we have our usual product showcase and events listings and have renamed our “By the Numbers” section to “Stats & Facts,” providing some insight into the numbers behind our industry sector.

Get the details on the articles and see what else we have for you here. Happy reading!
