Sapiens Child Design Inc. Named Finalist in Small Business BC E-Commerce Awards

Sapiens Child Design Inc., a Vancouver-based company specializing in Montessori-inspired children’s furniture, has been selected as one of the top three finalists for the 2024 Small Business BC E-Commerce Experience Award. This award celebrates small businesses in British Columbia that excel in creating an outstanding online experience for their customers, and Sapiens Child is recognized for its high-quality, thoughtfully designed furniture tailored to the needs of young children.

Founded by Jorge Hoyos, a former mechanical engineer, Sapiens Child began as a personal project in his backyard workshop during the COVID pandemic. Inspired by his wife, an AMI-certified Montessori Guide, and their shared vision for fostering independence in children, Hoyos transitioned his carpentry passion into a business in 2021. The company moved to a dedicated warehouse, evolving from a small-scale workshop into a brand committed to designing child-friendly, space-efficient furniture for modern homes.
