Biesse Acquires Orchestra to Expand Manufacturing Software and MES Capabilities
Biesse has acquired Orchestra Srl, an Italian software company specializing in digital platforms for connected manufacturing, production monitoring and workflow optimization.
The acquisition expands Biesse’s digital capabilities beyond machinery, production lines and components, supporting the company’s strategy to help manufacturers simplify operations, improve equipment performance and optimize industrial processes.
Orchestra develops platforms and applications that connect industrial machinery, collect production data in real time and coordinate workflows across manufacturing environments. Its technology can communicate with equipment from multiple manufacturers, enabling customers to centralize operational data from multi-brand production facilities.
The software transforms machine and production information into actionable insights that can be used to improve equipment utilization, identify bottlenecks and reduce operating time and costs.
The acquisition also strengthens Biesse’s Manufacturing Execution System capabilities. The combined digital platform can automatically adjust and optimize production schedules based on incoming orders, available machinery, processes and resources.
According to Biesse, the result is a broader digital ecosystem covering machine connectivity, data acquisition, production management, scheduling and dynamic optimization. The platform is designed to provide a unified environment for monitoring and controlling production across an entire manufacturing operation.
The technology is expected to support adaptive production planning based on real-time information, giving manufacturers greater visibility into workflow performance and allowing them to respond more quickly to changing production requirements.
Biesse said customers will benefit from improved manufacturing efficiency, fewer production bottlenecks and greater control across the production process. Centralized data will also provide manufacturers with information that can support profitability, responsiveness and competitiveness.
Roberto Selci, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Biesse, commented: “This acquisition represents a concrete step in the execution of our 2026–2028 Business Plan and further strengthens the Group’s digital transformation journey. By integrating Orchestra’s expertise, we are expanding our ability to provide customers with increasingly advanced solutions for the digitalization and optimization of manufacturing processes. Our objective is to simplify factory management while enabling customers to improve efficiency and competitiveness through digital transformation.”
The acquisition represents another step in Biesse’s transition toward integrated machinery and software solutions. By combining connected equipment with production management tools, the company aims to increase the value of its machines while simplifying manufacturing operations for customers processing wood and other materials.
