A Fresh Start

Grace Tatigian

We’ve seen a lot of change in 2020. Most of it big, some of it scary, but hopefully some of it good. This last year allowed some of us to step back and take stock of what is important in our lives and encouraged us to appreciate the little things.

Hopefully, when we look back on this time, we’ll take a moment to remember what we got out of this pandemic, not only what we lost. With that in mind, let us introduce another change into your life. As you probably saw on the cover, Wood Industry is under new management.

MediaEdge is thrilled to add Wood Industry to its portfolio, and we promise to bring the same care and attention to the magazine that Kerry Knudsen and his team did for all those years. While we are dedicated to maintaining the quality that you have come to expect from the magazine, we’re not afraid to change a few things up.

We’re switching the magazine to a quarterly publication, complemented by a weekly e-newsletter, available in English and French to better serve our bilingual industry professionals. While the frequency of delivery will be slightly different, we’ll include the same kind of news and content you rely on.

MediaEdge has been in the game for over twenty-five years and owns properties, not only in the world of woodworking but across other related industries like construction, floor coverings, and real estate management. Our team has a wealth of experience in crafting interesting and informative industry magazines.

This is a big change for me; I’m new to the magazine and new to the team. When I started in February, I anticipated a part-time position focusing on translation and writing articles for the French market, but now, here I am writing to you as the full-time editor. It’s exciting and just a little nerve-wracking, but I’m up for the challenge and looking forward to working with a strong team to deliver a fantastic publication.

Of course, I’m looking forward to writing, editing, and translating, but most of all, I’m looking forward to meeting, interviewing, and getting to know passionate industry professionals who are looking to share their news and their stories. I don’t know about you, but I can’t help but smile when I listen to someone talk about something they love.

I’m eager to immerse myself in this industry of builders, manufacturers, and artists, hard-working people whose craft plays a role in our everyday lives. I’m excited to interact with our readers, event attendees, and advertisers to learn about what motivates and inspires them in this industry. I’m enthusiastic about working with the Canadian and international markets to deliver thoughtful and engaging profiles, articles, and sponsored content. So please, reach out and get in touch to help us share your stories, news, and accomplishments.

So overall, what has changed with Wood Industry? We’ve got a new schedule, a new team, and a new language. What hasn’t changed? We’re offering the same quality, the same enthusiasm, and the same dedication. MediaEdge is thrilled to undertake this challenge, and we’re ready to go.

It’s a fresh start, allons-y!
